How to perform Backup on LibreHealth EHR

Introduction

The importance of data backup cannot be overemphasized; losing data due to system failure or any other cause can be quite handicapping and so, it is advisable to back up your data often. This document covers the procedure of backing up files for LibreHealth EHR using its built-in utilities. The operating system shown here is Windows.

Procedure

  1. On the navigation menu, go to Administration and select Backup

  2. On the screen which appears, click Create Backup and wait till the file is offered for you to download and save in your download directory.

  3. On your computer, select the appropriate directory where you want the file to be saved and click Save.

    In the figure above,
    A” represents the directory where the file is to be saved;
    B” represents the file name and
    C” is the save button.
  4. Once the download is complete, open the directory where you saved the file and locate it.

  5. You may rename the backup file to suit your preferences or as recommended by your company.
  6. Move the backup to a data storage repository which is separate from the computer on which your LibreHealth EHR is installed e.g an eternal hard drive.

Backup is completed.

Conclusion

The process may take a few minutes depending on the speed of your Internet connection, be patient and wait till the end. If you choose to move your backup file from your computer to cloud storage, be sure to verify that it is secure and suitable for you.
